appearance;;
From head to toe, Takahiro is clad in pure white, and has obviously made an effort to make himself look eccentric. His main attire is a white cloth robe with an elaborate golden trim, fastened via a series of three spacious buttons, and a black leather belt kept tight to his waist. The collar itself is also made of this leather, and is well decorated by a golden dragon that appears to spiral around the back of his neck. This collar seems to be the means by which a white cape hangs around his form.
The sleeves are guarded by a pair of faded brown gauntlets, also trimmed by a trim of pure gold, with the occasional hexagonal addition to the pattern. Covering the hilt of a pair of white gi pants is a pair of silver greaves over standard leather tabi, the front of which is covered by a plaque decorated with what appears to be the face of the Gorgon Medusa surrounded by a field of roses. Finishing the decoration of his strictly Bohemian attire is a pure white flannel that hands out from just below the neck.
As for how Takahiro himself looks, there isn't a whole lot that's noteworthy about him, seeing as he appears to be a regular individual. Much like his attire, Takahiro seems to believe his face is 'flawless' and has gone to considerable effort to reinforce this vanity. His hair, a shoulder length auburn, has been carefully crafted into place with only two bangs of a rich golden blonde that fall in front of his eyes. He appears to have heterochromia, but not in this traditional sense. The left eye possesses a golden pupil and the right a silver. Takahiro has a noticeably prominent bone structure, providing emphasis to both cheeks and chin.

full personality;;
If you'd only just met Takahiro, you'd find it hard to believe he was a member of the harshest of the five main Hidden Villages - even in such times. In stark contrast to Kirigakure's reputation as a hostile, far-from-amicable nation with an obsession with war, Takahiro seems to be the most jolly soul you could possibly run into. He has an almost child-like nature about him with a smile always plastered on his face, and generally seems to light up the atmosphere around him. He comes across as a very generous and caring individual, one who appears to want a personal relationship with each shinobi. This fun loving persona doesn't seem to grate Takahiro's far more gruff immediate company at home, who know full well what Takahiro's true persona is.
The 'real' Takahiro is as callous as they come and is far more fitting to the role of Mizukage than the 'pretender' he sees in the role - ambitious claims for someone so senior, and yet so low in rank. He's a cunning and calculating individual and one who can immediately comprehend the weaknesses of the human psyche as to best manipulate an opponent. All ninja are tools to him, and always will be. The fact that he can still uphold this jolly persona of his knowing full well of his own aspirations for power and bloodshed puts into perspective just how dastardly Takahiro is.
the past revealed;;
full history;;
The Midasu clan have been corrupt since the very first day that they figured out how their kekkai genkai worked. Before the days of civilisation in Kirigakure, they were known for using their elaborate wealth to gain prominence in the Land of Water, back before Kirigakure was founded and when the islands all considered themselves independent nations. In their attempt to feed their own greed and form a society, all they did was promote anarchy. Thievery of material goods became prominent, but soon the material wasn't enough, and these same thieves wanted the very technique itself. Dozens of Midasu died, leaving only one single family line to whittle down decades later under the protection of the Mizukage, leaving only one; Midasu Takahiro.
Like most Midasu, Takahiro never knew his father. Due to the 'precious gift' being lost to the male during conception, Takahiro's father had followed a family tradition of waiting until a ripe old age before finally having his way with a concubine of his. By the time Takahiro was born, his father had long since passed to natural causes, leaving Takahiro the sole retainer of the precious gift and the only Midasu alive. Due to Kirigakure's 'preference' for the technique, the Mizukage placed particular priority on Takahiro's survival, and he was taken into the care of the state.
As a child, Takahiro had very little rationality, as would be expected, and therefore, no reason to expect the selfish catering his forefathers had demanded of the Mizukage dynasty. Unlike the other children, Takahiro was taken into training by the Kirigakure ANBU before he was even at the age to attend academy. Though naturally, he seemed to grow up as a good natured, polite and modest boy, the harsh regiments he was subjected to effectively beat all of this out of him. He was forced to study the way of the ninja for hours a day, practise taijutsu and kenjutsu drills of a far higher level than should have been expected of him, and administered serious beatings for his failures.
All of these seemed to be spurred on by one thing, causing his suffering to become greater and greater as time went on; Takahiro had no idea how to use the Takaragan.
In terms of ninjutsu, Takahiro was far beyond what was expected of an Academy Student, having long mastered the four basic jutsu that would have necessitated a pass, but his requests to enter the Academy, and eventually, the Genin Exam had gone completely ignored. Instead, the ANBU were insistant on trying to get Takahiro to master elemental ninjutsu, thinking this advanced chakra control would be enough to teach him what was necessary to use the Takaragan. It wasn't until that day, where Takahiro realised just why he was being pushed so hard, that Midasu suddenly started showing 'miraculous' progress, learning not only how to implement his kekkai genkai, but how to create a Water Clone as well. The idea of an Academy Student suddenly comprehending a C-Rank jutsu was unheard of.
Takahiro would have entered that year's Genin exam, were it not for an 'incident' involving one of the Academy Students dying in a duel, the first Academy Student to die since the Zabuza incident. Fearing for the economy should he follow up on Takahiro's wishes, the Mizukage postponed Takahiro's application to the Academy and placed more emphasis on the mortal combat ruling of the Genin exam being abolished completely. Takahiro's loathing of the Mizukage multiplied from that one act, believing that they not only doubted in his ability, but that it meant more months of hell under the ANBU. In comparison to the pre-rebellion Konohagakure Academy, Kirigakure's school was still as harsh as they came, but to Takahiro, it was like ascending into Heaven.
Takahiro's fractured personality suddenly gave him an insight into everyone all around him. Having been taught to show no outward compassion, no remorse for anything, he found himself unable to form any connections with the other students, but they never would have noticed. In fact, Takahiro was such a friendly and seemingly caring addition to the class, that you would have been hard pressed to find someone that didn't like him. In reality, Takahiro was analysing every one of their personalities. Finding out their flaws, their weaknesses, their traits, trying to figure out this 'social' world that he had been deprived of his entire life.
At the age of 12, after passing the examination with flying colours, Midasu Takahiro became a registered Genin of Kirigakure.
Since then, it's anybody's guess as to why, or even how a supposed child prodigy could go throughout life as a shinobi for nearly an entire decade without advancing in rank. In fact, the sheer amount of military service that Takahiro has managed to dodge is startling. No registry of any active service as part of an established team. No entries into any Chuunin Exams. It was as if, ever since the rebellion of the original Seven Swordsmen and the massacre of the Kaguya, Takahiro's drive had evaporated with their loyalties. As if he was content to be a Genin forever.
Rather than simply biding his time.

clan;;
The Midasu were Kirigakure's best kept secret. One that eventually developed into a number of folk tales, eventually culminating in what the Western World, far beyond that of the Villages in the West have comprehended yet, knows as 'The Midas Touch'. Though back before Kirigakure was civilised and united under one banner, the six islands engaged in a miniature war in order to capture and try to extract their most valuable Kekkai Genkai. However, due to their lack of breeding capability, the Midasu began to progressively die out in the crossfire.
By the time Kirigakure was formed and the Kiri Shinobi were placated under the Mizukage's rule, the Midasu had been reduced to one single family line, albeit one that had been kept in seclusion by the Mizukage. They became prominent members of the Kiri aristocracy, the family merging in with society under a number of pseudonyms whenever necessary, but for the most part, the significantly reduced clan remained in hiding, knowing how sought after their ability was. Though blaming the previous wars for their miniscule numbers was one reason, this should no longer have been of note, because the Midasu had long since stopped applying for active duty, and no Midasu had ever even made the rank of Genin, many never even going to Academy. The significant reason was that of the bloodline itself. It had a tendency to bring out the worst in people.
A side effect of the kekkai genkai was a sense of sterility. Many members of the clan found themselves unable to breed, and passed away without successors, but even those who were capable of breeding swore themselves to an oath of celibacy not on the basis of purity, but of greed. A Midasu with the kekkai genkai was immediately noticeable by their heterochromic eyes, but once the egg had been fertilised, so to speak, the kekkai genkai went with it, and their eyes faded to normal colours. So many Midasu were unwilling to let go of their gift, and began to gather a reputation among those who knew of their existence as despicable lechers; ones who deliberately waited until old age to breed to make the most out of their ability.
Many elder Midasu died while the child was young, leaving the younger Midasu in the care of the state. By the time of Takahiro's birth, the clan had been trimmed to the extent that as soon as his obscenely elderly father died, he became the only Midasu alive, and the only retainer of the 'precious gift'.
